Medical Science (AAQ)

If you have an interest in working in a medical or healthcare related field such as sports therapy, physiotherapy, biomedical sciences or psychology, this qualification equates to one A Level and carries the same number of UCAS points.

Taught over two years, this exciting new course is assessed via examination in your first year and coursework in your second.

In your first exam based year, units consist of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, and health issues and scientific reporting.

In second year, units three and four cover practical microbiology and infectious diseases, and diseases, disorders, treatments and therapies, respectively.

What do I need?

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and maths.

What next?

The BTEC AAQ in Medical Science equips you with the skills and knowledge needed for a wide range of employment, as well as further training. The course supports applications for Sports Therapy, Pharmaceutical Science, Biomedical Sciences, Paramedical Science, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Psychology among other health related courses.
