If you don’t meet our entry requirements for A Levels, you can apply for our Step Up Pathway (SUTA). SUTA allows you to get the GCSEs you need, so that you can progress to A Level study. You take 5 GCSEs over one year and upon successful completion, you will be able to apply for A Level study. For more information give us a call or drop us a message over live chat.

  • I haven’t received an invitation, or am struggling, to book an enrolment slot, what should I do?

If you are having difficulty booking an enrolment slot, or if you haven’t received an email inviting you to do so, you can come along to one of the drop-in sessions where one of the Enrolment team will be happy to help you.

    Thursday 20 August – Friday 28 August

  • What if I don’t get the grades I was hoping for? Should I still attend enrolment?

Yes, please still attend your enrolment slot. Even if you don’t meet the entry requirements for your original course, we may be able to offer you a place at a different level within the same subject area, or help you explore an alternative pathway.

Options might include starting on a lower-level course with English and maths included, joining a GCSE programme or moving onto a different route that aligns with your grades, interests and goals. We’ll talk everything through with you at enrolment.

  • I’ve received a college offer but have changed my mind about what I want to do, what should I do?

Speak to us, you still have time to change your choices. Come to your booked enrolment appointment or a drop-in session and talk to us about what you would like to change to – we can give you advice on your next steps.

    Thursday 20 August – Friday 28 August
    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 10am – 4pm
    Wednesday – 10am-7pm

  • Can I enrol online?

No, you are not able to enrol online. Enrolment takes place at the College and you must attend in person (it can’t be done by someone else on your behalf) so we can check your documents, confirm your details and issue you a student ID and lanyard.

If you can’t make your appointment, please contact the admissions team to rearrange a suitable time.

  • How long will it take to enrol?

Enrolment takes place at the College and should take approximately fifteen minutes. Our friendly team will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. There’s no need to feel rushed – we are here to help and will ensure you are satisfied with everything before you head off to enjoy the rest of your day.

  • What happens when I visit campus?

You will be welcomed by a friendly member of staff who will speak to you about your next steps. Whether this is starting your enrolment or helping you to find options based around your interests, we can help. It’s also a great chance for you to get a feel for what it would be like to study with us.

  • What financial support is available?

We don’t want finance to be a barrier to study. We offer financial support to students to help with costs including travel, meals, childcare, fees and course-related costs, if you meet certain eligibility criteria. For full details of the support available, visit our Student Financial Support webpage.

Please note, funds are limited and subject to eligibility criteria, so students are advised to apply immediately following their enrolment. A Student Financial Support Fund application form will be emailed to you and our staff can help support you through the application. In order to complete the application, students will be asked to show their income evidence to staff (e.g. working tax credit/child tax credit award notice, benefits letter, Universal Credit statement, home office letter/ASPEN/ARC Card).

If you are 20+ and applying for childcare, you must also bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

If you require childcare support, you can apply now by downloading the childcare applications form, and quote form, from our Student Financial Support webpage.

Applications must be checked and signed by curriculum admin teams before being scanned and submitted to childcareadvice@leedscitycollege.ac.uk.

  • When can I get a confirmation of enrolment letter (for employers or benefits)?

Confirmation letters can be issued once you’ve been attending college for two weeks. Please speak to your School Admin team and they’ll be able to help.

  • Can I still apply or enrol if I miss the enrolment period? What if I’m on holiday?

Yes, you can still apply after the main enrolment period. However, we can’t guarantee availability. To give yourself the best chance, we recommend completing your interview, receiving your offer and booking an enrolment slot as early as you can.

If you’re going to be away during the main enrolment dates, you can attend one of our late enrolment sessions. In some cases, if you let us know in advance, we may be able to make arrangements; but this isn’t always possible and spaces may still be very limited. For this reason, we strongly encourage enrolling as early as you’re able to.

  • When will I get my lanyard and timetable?

You’ll receive your lanyard when you enrol. Your timetable will be released shortly after enrolment, usually in early September. If you haven’t received your timetable before your course begins, please contact your School Admin team.

  • When will I receive information about uniforms?

If your course requires a uniform, details and ordering links are usually shared during enrolment. In some departments, this may also be discussed at your interview.
